In the Heart of the Dordogne

Located in the ‘Perigord Noir’, in the commune of Fleurac (flower-town) five minutes from the historic town of Les Eyzies, ‘Chestnut Cottage’ is wonderfully central for all the region’s major attractions and everyday requirements.

2 minutes to the nearest restaurant

5 minutes to the bakery, pharmacy, shops and a small supermarket

15 minutes to Le Bugue and St Cyprien with large supermarkets and all the other facilities you may need. Rouffignac, with its range of shops, is also only 10 minutes away.

The medieval and beautiful towns of Sarlat, Montignac, Perigueux and Bergerac and 10 hill-top bastide towns are only between 20-60 minutes drive.

Bordeaux, Toulouse, St Emilion, and Limoges are under 2 hours away. Biarritz, The Pyrenees and Spain are a comfy 3-4 hour drive.

A car is highly recommended to give you the freedom to see the numerous, beautiful sites and attractions as far as you wish to go.

By Air:-
- Bergerac (50minutes) from many airports via RyanAir or FlyBe
- Bordeaux (90 minutes) – BA, EasyJet
- Limoges or Toulouse (2hrs)

By Car:-
– Eurotunnel or Ferry to several French ports. The journey can be done comfortably in a day or with an overnight stop.

By Train:-
– Eurotunnel and then on to number of stations including Limoges/Perigueux/Brive/Le Buisson/Les Eyzies etc.

Car Hire:-
Available at all airports and railway stations via Hertz, Budget, Avis, etc. Recommended to give you the freedom to see the numerous sites and activities of the region.

Local Directions
‘Chestnut Cottage’ at Domain Le Ruisseau is located off the D31 between the villages of Manaurie and Fleurac.
If your route takes you to Les Eyzies, after Les Eyzies take the D47 to Manaurie which is 4km from Les Eyzies, direction Perigueux. In Manaurie, turn right onto the D31 (signposted Fleurac/Rouffignac/Chateau L’Herme).
After 2Kms you will see the Black/Orange ‘Le Ruisseau’ sign. Follow the country road as signposted for 400Meters to the house.
From the Fleurac direction on the D31, the property (signposted ‘Le Ruisseau’) is 4Km after Fleurac on the left.
